Belkin Network Usb Hub F5l009 Driver For Mac
This is much more complicated than needing a simple device driver - the 'driver' must join the application software to the usb hub - there is no way there will ever be a linux way of using this usb hub - I even tried to load the windows software under Wine but it failed to run - so no, no, and no. The Belkin F5L009 USB Network Hub was supposed to be shipping by May 31, 2007. I sent an inquiry to Belkin, and the best they could tell me is 'sometime this summer'. Firmware Ver. 1.2.0 Download 451 KB IMPORTANT: This download is a BIN file type. After downloading the firmware, you need to load the file to your Network USB Hub to improve its functionality.
I followed AndyGC instructions as labeled in number 4 of his post. It has worked great so far.
See: The silex software appeared to work as other have mentioned. Yet after a few minutes I noted that it was dropping the connection intermittently. In addition I really could not use the scanner that was connected to the USB network hub. As AndyGC first pointed out I installed the software for the F7D4301 Play Max Wireless Router (Yes I realize that F5l009 network usb hub is NOT a router but as AndyGC pointed out it has the same or similar chipsets).
I downloaded the driver from the following web site:. I used version 4.0.3.19106 of the software. Once downloaded, the software first extracts itself. The the regular old windows setup wizard comes up. You go through each of those steps. After the software has installed, a second Belkin router setup dialog comes up. It is a clean white interface.
You can just exit out of that. You do not need to go those steps. In the system tray you will see a gray or green capsule like icon. This is the Belkin router management app. Right click on that and one of the options is the 'USB print and storage manager'. This is the replacement for the F5L009 program that used to reside in the system tray.
There is little in the app to setup - and of what there is - it is all self explanatory. After installing this software, I noted that I was not loosing connection to the network hub as I was with the silex software or it not just working with the regular F5L009 software. I have a scanner hooked up over a wireless network, and I was able to scan a 10 page document without issue. After making sure it worked well, I uninstalled the following bloatware that came with the router software: Vuze, Bitboost, Belkin DJ, and Belkin music labeler. I like Andy GC was unable to find a solution to the issue of the router setup dialog open with each reboot. Again you just have to exit out of that app when it opens. Finally, I turned the windows firewall back on.
The Belkin setup process punched the required holes through the windows firewall for the network hub to function properly. Again, thanks AndyGC (I am running Win 7 64x Home Premium). Again, thanks AndyGC (I am running Win 7 64x Home Premium)Hello, I just want to buy a HUB like this, and I want to use it under W7 x64 so I'll have the same problem, but before I've made a custom install pack, where I've replaced the original (old version) SXUPTP.sys to a newer one (ver 3.3.8.0). Somebody wrote that with this version of sys everthings work great. If I upload the installer to somewhere can you check that is it work correctly or not?
I've installed it on my machine, and it works on my computer, installs the correct SXUPTP.sys (3.3.8.0) and ofcourse can't find the device, because I don't heve it:) So the installer contains the original F5L009 control center with an updated SXUPTP.sys. Nothing special/magic. Check the screenshot. Regards, jnorbi. Jnorbi That is great. I am glad that you made the combined drivers.
We need smart people like you around to keep our old hardware working with new OSes. I think I can say for the average computer user, I would advise just using AndyGCs method (using the Belkin drivers for F7D4301 Router). It can be downloaded from a reputable source, I am certain that this works with win 7/64bit. It just works. No muss no fuss. Let us know how it works when you find a belkin network hub to play with. Keep up the good work.

JnorbiHello, I've got it!:) So now I can try this driver on my computer (W7 HP x64) and it was buggy (devices appears but can't connect). With this new version I think there's no problems, can connect to devices (thumbdrive/printer checked, printer in shared mode too), I can copy more than 1-2 GBs over the network HUB without disconnecting. So I think it's 99.99.9% working version with the original control center. You can download it here: Please test it, and report the problems/success stories:) Regards, Norbert. Jnorbi That is great. I was a little apprehensive at first about, that, but I figured what the heck.
The fact that the files are still signed by Belkin was a bit more re-assuring. I am now able to both print, scan, and connect to external flash drives through my ol' Belkin USB hub! Just thought i would post a workaround, fix, solution for this until ms does possibly. Although it may be a belkin problem to fix Hardware affected: Belkin Network USB Hub F5l009 Situation: Installing and getting usb network hub to communicate Problem: Constant disconnecting of drives and Control Center crash/hang on exit. Under win7 the drives/printer would connect, but then upon initial scan of a device it would close the connection, losing it completely, but still showing the device and devices attached to hub available on the network, not disabled like i have seen it show before when a problem with a device on the hub would occur. Resolution(s): First running both the install software under vista comp and the actual connect.exe (Control Center) under vista comp after install before initial run. Secondly, under XP this device worked fine without having to manually port forward the hub thru the router. Whether a flaw with the software under XP or the utilization of Upnp under XP (which i use on xp and network).
Quick solve: Make sure to forward the ports manually, both tcp and udp. Also putting the device on DMZ will not work. Tried and tested all i could think of. How do you forward the ports manually?well if you notice after install, it creates a firewall exception for windows firewall. Take the same ports and enter the information into the router's configuration thru your browser.
The hub has its own address as well and software, btw there is a firmware update for this device, but this isnt where to forward ports, just in the router like i stated. Reason I had to do this was because of my setup, i was 'piggybacking' another 4 port wired router onto the main router, and running the belkin usb network hub thru the 4port wired-only router. If just connected to your ONLY router, or atleast the same router from which you are connected to, there shouldnt be a need to enter the information in the router and forward the listed ports. ALso, if you have your router setup as upnp enabled, then this wouldnt be needed. I have switched my thinking on upnp since i noticed some ports wouldnt release and/or refresh along with the changing of an IP, tho this may have been program/device/adapter dependant.
So i have upnp disabled on the network, and hence the reason why i had to forward the ports from the second router that was hosting the belkin net usb hub. We have just one Netgear router and the Belkin usb hub installed.

Windows 7 recognizes our printer and external hard drive in the belkin software but will not connect to them. The belkin software tries to connect then basically times out. Do you have any other suggestions?hmmm. Well as i dont have this setup like i did before, had a move in between originally posting this and now.
Waiting to run some wire to get it all back together again. From memory, it was really key to install under vista and then use vista mode for the connect.exe. If you notice in action center, maybe not now but eventually you will, see a msg sent from MS concerning this software as well. From memory it only reguarded the startup of the connect.exe original problem. Recommends for you to manually start it each time, but after i first seen that msg, a few weeks later when i hopped on laptop the startup of connect.exe at logon worked just fine now. Like i said, remember vista compatibility mode for install of and use of connect.exe. I hope to get around to wiring up the house this week and hooking everything back up again, then maybe i can be of more help to you then.
I am drilling holes today, and if possible running cable. I've had a problem finding the correct power cable for the hub right now, lost in moving. That shouldnt be too big of a problem, hopefully, it shall be found.

After i run some wire i will then hook up the hub and start from scratch on the configuration, so i will be able to diagnose any problems that may mirror yours. I would hope this wouldnt be an RC issue with the install of the software, but. One can never tell these days. ALso, in the meantime. Hopefully you have played around and gotten somewhat familiar with your router and the settings. Try and uninstall, reboot, re-install the network hub software.
Write down the ports its tells you that it uses ( i forget ), and then find port forwarding in your router and forward those ports both udp and tcp to the ip of the network hub. I believe the default is 192.168.1.200. Its either that, or thats what i configured and remember it to be.
A way you can tell is thru the router browswer config, and somewhere there's info on the dhcp table if enabled. By process of elimination you can figure out who is who on the network. Either by name resolution or by mac address, the funky looking bi:na:ry:nu:mb:er. Which by going to start, typing in cmd, enter, then typing in ipconfig /all will display the adapter's mac address.
